Ewam India Buddhist Monastery
Located at a distance of 13km from the heart of Siliguri, the Ewam India Buddhist Monastery has been a popular choice among tourists of Siliguri. Placed in the eastern part of Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary the monastery offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Established in 2005, the monastery showcases its beauty with architectural masterpieces and wall paintings that reflect various forms of Buddhism. Sed Gyued Monastery
The spiritual centre of Siliguri for the Buddhist people Sed Gyued Monastery is one of the most sacred monasteries that spread religious teaching to more than 100 monks. The monastery was set up under the guidance of the Dalai Lama and is known for spreading tantric teachings that are said to be transmitted to the close disciples within the monastery. Tharpa Choling Monastery
Located on top of the Kalimpong Valley, Tharpa Choling Monastery is considered one of the oldest monasteries in this region dating back to 1912. Over the years the monastery has gone under multiple renovations but still has managed to keep its old-age relics and artifacts. With numerous Buddha statues and presiding deities, the monastery has been a major attraction site among tourists. Dali Monastery
Druk Sangag Choling Monastery popularly known as Dali Monastery is one of the largest monasteries, located adjacent to the Ghoom station in Darjeeling. Built-in the year 1971, the monastery was founded by Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche, a religious teacher. Surrounded by the humming sound of chanting monks and fluttering religious flags, this place is home to numerous students who learn the teachings of Buddha and reside within the monastery.
